Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert critical care nursing for adult ICU patients, monitoring and responding to changes in condition
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Operate and manage advanced critical care equipment, including ventilators and hemodynamic monitors
- Perform thorough assessments, document accurately in the medical record, and communicate findings promptly
- Deliver compassionate patient and family education and emotional support during critical moments
- Contribute to unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Maine RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Experience working in an ICU or critical care setting (ICU nursing / critical care experience preferred)
- Influenza vaccination mandated by the State of Maine
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and every other weekend as scheduled
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of critical care principles and interventions
- Proficiency with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
- Skilled in rapid assessment, prioritization, and clinical decision-making
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-acuity environments
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
- Commitment to infection control and patient safety standards
