Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
- Perform comprehensive assessments and continuously monitor neonatal patient conditions
- Administer medications, IV therapies, nutritional support, and specialized treatments as prescribed
- Operate and monitor neonatal equipment including ventilators, CPAP, cardiac monitors, and infusion pumps
- Assist with neonatal resuscitation, stabilization, and emergency procedures
- Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, lactation consultants, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Educate and support parents and families regarding treatment plans, infant care, and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care standards
- Provide compassionate, family-centered care throughout the neonatal journey
Requirements
- Active RN License in Washington
- Minimum 2 years of recent NICU nursing experience
- Current BLS Certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification required
- ACLS Certification preferred
- STABLE certification preferred
- Strong neonatal assessment and critical care skills
- Excellent communication and family education abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity NICU environment
