Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts: Days 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or Nights 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required with Saturday and Sunday considered weekend shifts
• Required to work 2 Fridays per schedule
• Acute care setting
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7
• Self-scheduling and blocked schedules allowed as long as unit needs are met
• Charting system: Cerner
• Required certification: BLS
• BSN not required
• Valid driver's license required - copy must be submitted with application
• Any hits on professional license must be disclosed at time of submission
• Must reside outside of a 50-mile radius
• Care for post-surgical, orthopedic, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, hospice, end of life, and chemotherapy patients
• Must be comfortable working with both clean and isolation patients simultaneously
• May care for patients on remote telemetry monitored by monitor tech on 3rd floor - no bedside monitors on unit
• Administer Heparin and possibly MSO4 for comfort measures - no cardiac drips
• Manage Bipap, CPAP, and High Flow oxygen per respiratory therapy
• Floating limited to other MedSurg units only
• One shift orientation with a preceptor provided
• Navy blue scrubs required; any jackets worn must also be navy blue
• Client may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week assignment or 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks
Facility:
This acute care facility operates two MedSurg units totaling 57 private beds, providing comprehensive medical-surgical care across a wide range of patient diagnoses. The facility utilizes Cerner for electronic charting and maintains dedicated clinical management coverage Monday through Saturday. The organization supports a collaborative care environment with respiratory therapy involvement in ventilatory support and remote telemetry monitoring managed by dedicated monitor technicians.
