Job Details:
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Travel experience preferred
• Work in a free-standing emergency department with 24 beds
• Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with approximately 15% pediatric patients
• Day shift patient ratio of 1:4
• RN performs respiratory therapy and pharmacy roles as no RT or pharmacy is on site
• Charting system: Epic (required)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS
• Required skills and equipment experience: Trach Care, Cardioversion/Defibrillation, Breathing Treatments, Feeding Tube Management, PICC Line, Rapid Infuser
• Additional required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, Blood Product Administration, Care of Ventilated Patient, Central line care/management, Chest tube insertion/management, Continuous IV sedation, Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, 12-lead EKG/ECG, Phlebotomy, Procedural Sedation Administration/Monitoring, Starting and maintaining IVs, and Triage
• Perform special procedures including Procedural Sedation, RSI (Rapid Sequence Intubation), Drain management, Port-A-Cath/Vascular Device Access and Care, Syringe Pumps, and Triple Lumen Catheter management
Facility:
This facility operates a free-standing emergency department equipped with 24 beds, designed to provide comprehensive emergency care services to the surrounding community. The department serves a diverse patient population across multiple age groups and is structured to support RNs in expanded roles, including respiratory therapy and pharmacy functions, ensuring continuity and quality of care in the absence of on-site RT and pharmacy staff.
