Opportunity:
RN - NICU
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks, with every 3rd weekend worked
• Holiday coverage required for 3 of 6 major holidays based on unit coverage
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience required; will screen busy Level 3 experience
• Minimum 3 years of total experience required
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Patient ratios: 1:2 ICU, 1:3 Level 2
• 71-bed unit including 17 stepdown beds with 4 private rooms
• Charting system: Cerner EMR
• Telemetry: Phillips
• Ventilator management handled by respiratory therapy
• Neonatologist and midlevels available on-site 24/7
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7
• NICU Pharmacy available during daytime hours
• 1 PCT per shift available as nurse aide support
• Charge nurse available with no patient assignment and serves as high-risk RN resource
• Floating may be required to mother baby and labor care units for babies only
• Floor-specific orientation: 2-3 days on the floor
• Day 1 pass/fail SIMs Lab required covering Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath insertion
• Common diagnoses include premature infants, cardiac defects, genetic disorders, surgical cases, ECMO, and cooling patients
• Scrub color: Navy
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, Cardiac STABLE Plus

This acute care facility is a Level 1 trauma center offering a comprehensive range of specialized medical services. The NICU unit operates at a Level 4 designation, providing the highest level of neonatal care for critically ill and premature infants. The facility is equipped with advanced technology and maintains a strong support infrastructure including 24/7 respiratory therapy, pharmacy services, and neonatology coverage to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
