Opportunity:
RN - MedSurg | Neuro
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekends required as needed
• Travelers are first to float to support all Treasure Valley Med-Surg areas
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4
• 34-bed Neuro unit on Floor 9
• Common diagnoses include stroke, spine/back surgeries, cranial surgeries, neck surgeries, medical neuro disorders, neuro intervention procedures, Guillain-Barré, Myasthenia Gravis, seizures, and EEG monitoring
• Average patient length of stay is 2-5 days
• Neuroscience NPs staff 24/7 to provide support for all neuro surgery and neuro intervention patients
• Must have more than 3 years of experience with a solid MedSurg or Tele background; stroke experience preferred
• Ortho/spine/stroke experience is a plus; neuro experience is highly preferred
• First-time travelers are welcome
• No drip titration required
• RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, and Trachs; RT available as a resource
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN required
• No on-call or standby requirement
• No specific scrub color required as long as clean and professional
• Orientation includes 2 days of unit-specific orientation plus a didactic day with a unit-based educator
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC), NIHSS
