Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
- Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiology studies, and other cardiovascular procedures
- Monitor and assess patients before, during, and after procedures
- Administer medications, moderate sedation, IV therapies, and emergency interventions as needed
- Operate and monitor hemodynamic monitoring equipment and cardiac rhythm systems
- Assist physicians during cardiac and vascular procedures while maintaining sterile technique
- Monitor patients for complications and respond promptly to emergent situations
- Provide post-procedure care, including sheath removal and access site management as required
- Educate patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with cardiologists, radiology staff, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Participate in on-call responsibilities as required by the facility
Requirements
- Active RN License in California
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Cath Lab nursing experience
- Current BLS Certification required
- ACLS Certification required
- Moderate Sedation experience preferred
- Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and cardiovascular procedures required
- Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity procedural environment
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems
- Commitment to delivering exceptional, patient-centered cardiovascular care
