Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technician
At VCA Midwest Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center we deliver the most progressive and appropriate treatments available in Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Diagnostic Imaging, and Oncology.
Schedule: Full-time opportunity, 3 x 12-hour shifts. Overnight/3rd shift. 7 pm - -7:30 am
Compensation: Pay range is negotiable based on experience, skills, knowledge, abilities and other relevant credentials.
The Role
As an Emergency Veterinary Technician (ER/ICU), you’ll play a critical role in patient care across emergency and specialty services. You’ll support a wide range of cases—from triage and stabilization to ongoing ICU care, while working alongside a highly skilled, collaborative emergency and specialty team.

What We’re Looking For
Licensed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT) or eligible to sit for the VTNE
Ability to stay calm and organized in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Passion for high-quality, patient-centered care
What You’ll Do
Triage and assist in stabilizing emergency patients
Provide advanced nursing care in ICU and critical care settings
Administer medications, CRIs, and fluid therapy
Perform diagnostics (lab work, imaging, sample collection)
Assist with advanced procedures (central lines, transfusions, oxygen therapy)
Communicate with clients during high-stress situations with empathy and clarity
Collaborate closely with ER doctors, specialists, and support staff
