Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a specialized cardiac and heart failure unit. The RN will care for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions, utilizing strong clinical assessment skills and advanced cardiac monitoring knowledge in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for PCU patients with cardiac and medical conditions.
• Monitor and manage patients with heart failure, post-cardiac surgery conditions, and other progressive care needs.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, diuretics, inotropes, and other prescribed treatments.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize changes requiring intervention.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Accurately document patient care and clinical findings using the Epic electronic medical record system.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations and changes in patient condition.

Unit Information
• Cardiac-focused Progressive Care Unit
• Approximately 31–40 beds
• Specialized cardiac patient population
• Procedures are performed by designated procedural departments
Required Qualifications
• Active Delaware RN License or Compact RN License.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience.
• Recent Epic charting experience required.
• Strong cardiac assessment and telemetry monitoring skills.
• Experience caring for heart failure and other cardiovascular patient populations.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications preferred.
