Job Details
- Position: Registered Nurse - PCU (Progressive Care Unit)
- Location: Asheville
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
- Shift: Night Shift
- Schedule: 3x12
- Experience Required: 2 Years
- Weekly Pay: $1,900 to $2,080
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients requiring intermediate and progressive care monitoring
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and continuously monitor changes in patient conditions
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and manage patients with complex medical conditions
- Operate and monitor telemetry equipment and other specialized monitoring devices
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
- Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in patient status
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
- Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care guidelines
Requirements
- Active RN License in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU, Step-Down, or Telemetry nursing experience
- Current BLS Certification required
- ACLS Certification required
- NIHSS Certification preferred
- Strong cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation skills
- Excellent critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients in a fast-paced environment
