Under direct supervision, independently uses the nursing process to safely, therapeutically and efficiently care for a group of patients. Uses information from a variety of sources to assess, plan, implement, identify outcomes and evaluate patient's plan of care. New graduates are permitted to perform any function that falls within the scope of nursing practice for which they have received educational preparation and have demonstrated minimal competency.
The Graduate Nurse must take the NCLEX-RN within 75 days from receiving the Authorization to Test (ATT). Upon testing, the temporary Graduate Nurse Permit will expire immediately, and the individual will no longer be eligible to work as a GN.
