Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Looking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others. Join a traveling Physical Therapist role in Virginia Beach, VA with a home health provider where you will help patients recover from injuries and manage chronic conditions while working in patient homes within the coverage area. Minimum Requirements

Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
Active Virginia Physical Therapy license required prior to the start of the assignment.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross may be required.
Home health experience required.
Ability to perform admissions, recertifications, discharges, evaluations, and routine patient visits in home settings.
Reliable transportation for patient visits and willingness to be reimbursed for mileage between visits.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in the Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and Portsmouth coverage areas.
Flexible and dependable with strong time-management skills.
Knowledge of home health documentation and productivity expectations.

Assignment Details

Shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM.
Coverage areas include Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and Portsmouth, VA.
No weekend or on-call requirement.
Mileage reimbursement provided between first and last patient visits.

Impacting Patient Care

Provide home-based physical therapy services that support patient independence and recovery. Deliver comprehensive evaluations and plan of care management, ensuring continuity across admissions, recertifications, and discharges. Contribute to productivity and quality metrics while collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams to support patient-centered outcomes.

Location Highlights

Virginia Beach offers coastal recreation and a variety of cultural and outdoor attractions within short drives. The Virginia Beach Boardwalk and oceanfront are located along the Atlantic shoreline and provide waterfront access and dining within a few miles. First Landing State Park and False Cape State Park offer hiking and bayside access within a 15–30 minute drive. The area provides suburban coastal living with access to Norfolk’s cultural district and naval landmarks within a 20–30 minute commute.
