Penndot Cdl Operator Trainee

As a PennDOT CDL Operator Trainee with the Department of Transportation, you will begin a pathway toward a meaningful and steady career. This role provides training that prepares you to keep Pennsylvania's roads safe. You will gain skills, confidence, and real-world experience while working with our team in Beaver County. This position is a six-month trainee role that prepares you to operate equipment and support highway and bridge maintenance work. It provides hands-on learning, licensing preparation, and guidance in safety and work procedures. As a PennDOT CDL Operator Trainee, you will perform the following duties: Equipment Training:

Learn to operate heavy trucks, loaders, and other maintenance equipment as part of daily work Safety Practices:

Follow proper safety procedures, stay aware of surroundings, and report hazards or incidents immediately Tool Operation:

Use motorized and non motorized hand tools and select equipment properly to complete tasks Field Checks:

Perform and document pre-operation and post-operation inspections and make basic adjustments as needed Environmental Duties:

Carry out environmental protection requirements and follow training guidelines for this role Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Schedule varies seasonally, due to weather, and based on operational needs. Telework:

Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $41,526.00 (before taxes). Qualifications Special Requirements: You must be in possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License or equivalent. All employees must possess an active Pennsylvania Class A or B Commercial Driver Learner's Permit on the first day of work. All positions require employees to possess an active Medical Examiner's Certificate in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Regulations by the first day of work.
