Opportunity:
Stepdown/MedSurg
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday work expected for approximately half of all recognized holidays
• No call or standby requirements
• Handle nurse-to-patient ratios of 3:1 for step-down patients or 6:1 for med-surg patients
• Must have EPIC experience - required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Open to both new and experienced nurses
• Titrate drips including Heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrhythmics, phenobarbital, ketamine, and pain management PCAs
• Work with diverse patient population primarily with medical diagnoses
• Flex unit serving both floor and step-down patients based on patient and hospital needs
• May be required to float to other floor/step-down units
• Dress code requires any combination of royal blue and white scrubs
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week assignment and 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks
• BSN degree not required
• Work with respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, HiFlow, and ventilators for step-down patients
Facility:
This healthcare facility features a new 29-bed stepdown/medical-surgical unit currently under construction with an anticipated opening in the first quarter of 2026. All beds will be equipped for step-down care, and the unit will operate as a flex unit serving both medical-surgical and step-down patients based on census needs. The facility utilizes EPIC charting systems and Phillips telemetry monitoring equipment with remote telemetry surveillance center support. The unit is staffed with charge nurses and house supervisors 24/7, clinical associates for patient care support, and maintains modern respiratory therapy capabilities.
