Opportunity:
Department: OR | RN
Job Details:
• Work 9 or 10 hour day shifts with rotating schedule to cover late discharges
• Schedule provided 4 weeks in advance for 6 weeks with no self-scheduling
• On-call rotation responsibilities include average one weeknight call per week
• 24-hour call Friday night required
• Saturday/Sunday call every 5th weekend
• On-call coverage required for holidays with 20-minute response time
• Handle 15-20 cases per day in 4 operating suites plus 2 minor procedure rooms and OB C-section room
• Common cases include general surgery, orthopedic totals and minor cases, ENT, urology, gynecology, C-sections, and podiatry
• Cataract experience preferred but not required
• Scrubbing not required for RNs but considered a plus
• Minimum 2-5 years relevant OR experience required, prefer seasoned traveler with well-rounded experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Illinois license required
• No floating requirements
• Scrubs provided
• 1-2 weeks department-specific orientation with preceptor
• Use MEDITECH electronic medical record system
• Work alongside OR techs and OR Charge RN
