Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for postpartum, stable antepartum, newborn, GYN, and Med-Surg overflow patients
- Serve as second RN in the Special Care Nursery (SCN) as needed
- Float to Med-Surg and Telemetry units as needed, including taking Med-Surg patients when required
- Operate unit equipment including electronic medication dispensing systems, vitals machines, bladder scanner, infusion pumps, and EMR systems
- Adhere to AWHONN staffing standards and nurse-to-patient ratios (1:3 mom/baby couplets, 1:5 GYN/Med-Surg, 1:3–4 pediatrics)
- Assist in filling schedule vacancies related to staff onboarding, open positions, and FMLA coverage
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of OB/L&D and Postpartum nursing experience
- Active Minnesota RN license (temporary or pending license may be considered depending on start date availability)
- Active BLS certification – American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Active ACLS certification – American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Active NRP certification required
- Experience with EPIC or comparable EMR system
- Willingness and ability to float to Med-Surg and Telemetry units as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Active PALS certification
- Experience circulating in Labor and Delivery
- Familiarity with EPIC OneChart specifically
