Contract | Days (3x12 Hours, 8:00–20:30) | Onsite | 2–3 scheduled weekends per contract
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery care to both adult and pediatric surgical patients across a high-volume, multi-floor surgical department supporting up to 34 operating rooms
- Support all major surgical services and procedural populations, including Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, pulmonary lab, and CT/MRI prep and recovery
- Assist with regional anesthesia and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) procedures as part of the care team
- Float to pediatric PACU as needed, providing care to patients of all ages in pre-op and Phase I and Phase II recovery settings
- Utilize specialized equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and AccuVein as required
- Maintain a 1:2 patient ratio and adhere to all facility policies, including emergency team assignments as directed by unit management
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Compact or Louisiana license required and must be in hand upon submittal
- Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU specialty
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (AHA required)
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system
- Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility address (as indicated on driver's license)
- Current NURSYS report required, dated within 4 weeks of submission
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Background in PACU or Pre/Post-Op nursing strongly preferred
- Experience caring for pediatric surgical populations in a high-volume setting
- Familiarity with regional anesthesia patient care and monitoring
