Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Day Shifts | Every other weekend and major holidays required
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness for a mixed cardiac telemetry patient population including pre/post cath, post-stroke, Afib, and CHF exacerbation patients
- Administer and monitor cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, and non-titratable Heparin in accordance with applicable policies and standards of practice
- Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and operate unit equipment including Alaris pumps, LifePak defibrillators, Dynamaps, glucometers, and Kangaroo pumps
- Serve as point of contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments, collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team and communicating with patients, families, and caregivers
- Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and adhering to infection control and universal precaution standards
- Float to other Med/Surg units as needed based on facility staffing requirements
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of practice or covered under a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience required
- Telemetry experience required
- Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
- Must pass EKG Exam at orientation (study guide available prior to start)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- CCRN or PCCN certification
- Completion of a Critical Care Course
