Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a fast-paced 49-bed cardiac stepdown unit specializing in cardiovascular patients
- Care for specialty patients including stable heart and lung transplants and patients with Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs)
- Manage and monitor IV drips as required across all floors
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport team, and paramedics
- Float to other units within scope of practice as needed to meet facility staffing needs
Required Qualifications
- Active or pending Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska (pending license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficiency with EPIC charting required
- Experience managing IV drips required
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
- CPI certification preferred
- Prior experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center
