Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive, age-specific assessments of patients' physical and psychosocial status upon admission and on an ongoing basis
- Accurately document observations, physical examinations, laboratory and test results, and patient responses to procedural interventions
- Participate in multidisciplinary care planning to identify and clarify patient needs and achieve optimal outcomes
- Complete required documentation within organizational standards and timeframes
- Assist other staff in the delivery of patient care as appropriate
- Incorporate patient teaching and discharge planning to promote optimal patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience required
- Active Illinois RN license (must reflect Active status on Nursys)
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (must be obtained within 30 days of start if not already active)
- Current skills checklist pertinent to Intensive Care Unit, completed within the past year
- 2 completed supervisory reference forms with dates of employment listed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Cerner EMR
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in a high-acuity environment
