Key Responsibilities
- Provide optimal patient care utilizing knowledge and skills within the context of the nursing process, with accountability for individualized patient outcomes over an entire episode of care
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for neonatal patients and their families
- Demonstrate cognitive and psychosocial competency specific to the neonatal population and meet unit age-specific competency standards
- Coordinate care between interdisciplinary professionals as needed, incorporating family-centered care principles
- Operate and monitor ventilator equipment and other advanced NICU technologies as required
- Float to other areas of the organization up to competency level as needed, including availability for weekends, holidays, and call shifts
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada RN license prior to start
- Current BLS certification
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Minimum of 3 years of exclusive NICU experience in a Level III NICU or higher
- Ventilator training and demonstrated competency
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a high-acuity, high-volume NICU environment
- Familiarity with travel nursing expectations including flexible scheduling and departmental float requirements
