Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned telemetry patients.
- Care for patients presenting with MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and med/surg overflow; manage cardiac drips as appropriate per protocol.
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed therapies.
- Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and available resources.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in state of employment or valid compact license.
- BLS certification required from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- ACLS certification required from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a telemetry or related nursing specialty.
- Epic EMR experience required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience caring for cardiac patients including management of cardiac drips.
