Key Responsibilities
- Provide total patient care in a 26-bed Medical ICU with a 2:1 patient ratio, managing critically ill patients including those requiring ventilator support, IABP, and CRRT
- Perform and assist with advanced procedures including intubations, cardioversions, ventriculostomy drain placement and management, and proning of patients
- Administer and monitor critical care drips and IV therapy using Alaris IV pumps; document care using Meditech EBCD system
- Conduct hourly rounding, bedside hand-off reporting, and complete care boards during shift transitions using AIDET communication standards
- Don and doff appropriate PPE including masks, face shields, goggles, PAPRs, and hoods when caring for applicable patient populations
- Float to Medical-Surgical or other Intensive Care Units within the facility as needed per staffing requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license with a minimum of 1 year of ICU experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficient in ventilator management and critical care drip administration
- Strong assessment skills with working knowledge of cardiac, neurological, and respiratory systems
- Ability to work in a diverse environment with a positive attitude, flexibility, and strong teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to care for all ICU patient populations
Preferred Experience / Skills
- TNCC certification is a plus
- Experience with ventriculostomy drain management, IABP, and continual renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
- Familiarity with Meditech or similar electronic documentation systems
- National nursing certification preferred
