Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity Medical Surgical unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Manage a diverse patient population including diabetic, CHF, COPD, GI bleed, renal failure, DVT, wound care, post-surgical, and ETOH cases
- Administer and monitor medications including Lasix, Bumex, and Heparin
- Operate and monitor CPAP equipment; support BiPAP management on night shift
- Practice Primary Care Nursing while maintaining high standards of patient safety and satisfaction
- Float to acute care, cardiology, or other designated units as needed to support patient care
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience in a high-acuity, larger acute care setting (no Critical Access Hospital experience accepted)
- At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment
- BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Ability to manage a 1:6 patient ratio in a high-turnover, fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience with dialysis patients, wound care, debridements, and amputations
- Background in facilities with similar acuity, volume, and pace to a large acute care hospital
