Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend | Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
- Provide primary care nursing on a 14-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Manage patients with conditions including diabetes, CHF, COPD, GI bleed, renal failure, DVTs, wound care, amputations, debridements, and post-surgical overflow
- Administer and monitor medications including Lasix, Bumex, and Heparin
- Collaborate with CNAs and LPNs to deliver safe, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Float to acute care, cardiology, or the emergency department as needed to support patient care
- Adhere to strict patient safety, satisfaction, and quality of care standards including infection control policies
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment
- BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Experience in a large, high-acuity, high-turnover acute care facility (no Critical Access Hospital experience accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience managing patients on CPAP or BiPAP
- Familiarity with dialysis patient care and wound care management
