Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Hours/Week Guaranteed | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct critical care nursing to adult and geriatric patients in a CCU setting, with float capability to CVICU, Critical Care Step-Down, and Med-Surg units as needed
- Manage and titrate critical care drips, ventilators, arterial lines, chest tubes, central venous lines, and large-volume vas caths
- Perform and interpret continuous ECG rhythm monitoring, ABG and lab interpretation, and hemodynamic monitoring including CVP and PA monitoring
- Operate and manage advanced devices including CRRT (Prismaflex), Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, Arctic Sun, and Rapid-Transfusion systems
- Assist physicians with bedside procedures and conscious/moderate sedation; communicate with care team via mobile communication platform
- Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech EHR with clinical access for ICU patients
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license with a minimum of 5 years of critical care/ICU experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Proficiency in IV starts, blood draws, NG tube placement, ECG rhythm interpretation, and critical care drip titration
- Competency with ventilator management and advanced hemodynamic monitoring equipment
- Completion of required online learning modules including Moderate Sedation/Analgesia, iStat, and glucometer certifications
- Strong communication skills and ability to perform effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced critical care environments
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a teaching hospital environment working alongside resident physicians
- Advanced ICU skills including CRRT management, IABP management, and arterial sheath pulls
- Background in SICU, MICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU, or PCU/Med-Surg settings
- Familiarity with common ICU diagnoses such as respiratory failure, ischemic/hemorrhagic stroke, STEMI/NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, septic shock, and post-operative care
