Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every other weekend required | On-call required (two 12-hour shifts per 6-week period)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in a Labor and Delivery unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum periods
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using Epic electronic health records
- Participate in on-call shifts as required to meet unit staffing needs
- Respond to emergency situations, including potential assignment to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
- Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license (SC license must be active prior to start)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- AWHONN Beginner and AWHONN Intermediate certifications
- Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
- AWHONN Advanced certification
- STABLE program certification
- Prior experience with Epic electronic health records system
