Key Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care under limited supervision, planning, organizing, and directing nursing functions for Medical-Surgical patients
- Administers medications and intravenous solutions skillfully and accurately in accordance with physician orders and the nursing plan of care
- Assesses and prioritizes patients' physical, psychological, educational, and discharge needs to formulate and modify individualized plans of care
- Maintains accurate, concise, and timely documentation in the patient record
- Communicates effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and other departments regarding patient needs and unit concerns
- Supports and enforces infection control policies, participates in orientation, and attends required meetings and in-services
Required Qualifications
- Current Iowa licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience
- Healthcare Provider BLS certification
- Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification required within 6 months of hire
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification
- Experience working independently with limited supervision using the Nurse Practice Act, nursing standards, and professional judgment
