Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU / Med Surg ICU

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days (06:30–18:30) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | 2 out of 3 major holidays or as needed based on unit needs
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced ICU setting serving adult and pediatric patients (15+ years) with diagnoses including respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, renal failure, GI bleeds, and general/cancer-specific surgeries
- Titrate drips including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics
- Manage and monitor invasive lines and devices including CVPs, A-lines, Swans, EV-1000, and ICP monitoring
- Read and interpret cardiac telemetry independently using Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry (no monitor techs on unit)
- Collaborate with attending physicians, fellows, and residents to deliver high-quality, team-based patient care
- Float to all inpatient units as needed, excluding Maternity/NICU
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Ability to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips independently
- Must comply with facility fingernail policy — artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
- Must successfully pass a unit-specific open-book skills exam with a score of 90% or higher during orientation
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with CRRT, Impella, or intra-aortic balloon pump
- Familiarity with neurosurgical or neuro-interventional patient populations
- Experience with hypothermia protocols and rapid transfusion equipment
