Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Mid Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (self-scheduling available: 9–9, 11–11, 1–1, 3–3) | Onsite | Every other weekend and every other holiday required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department seeing approximately 80–90 patients per day with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Manage and monitor ER hold patients intermixed within the emergency department
- Perform and interpret ECG rhythms independently; no monitor technicians on unit
- Participate in triage on an occasional basis within a designated triage area
- Collaborate with ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, house supervisors, nurse aides, paramedics, and patient sitters
- Float to other units as qualified when needed
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure
- Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Current TNCC certification
- Current PALS or ENPC certification
- Proficiency with ECG rhythm interpretation
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Paragon EMR
- Familiarity with trauma, stroke, sepsis, CHF, and cardiac patient populations
- Experience working in a fast track or high-acuity emergency department environment
