Contract | Travel | Full-Time | Onsite | 13-Week Assignment | Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Weekends may be required based on scheduling need
Key Responsibilities
- Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
- Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment
- Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with level of practice
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given accurately and thoroughly
- Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources
- Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to manage the clinical situation
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of employment or valid compact license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical/Surgical nursing specialty
- Ability to practice independently in a medical/surgical or similar clinical setting
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Experience with post-surgical patient populations including orthopedics, general surgery, and neurology
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records system
