Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of nursing care procedures requiring professional knowledge and consideration for specific patient conditions and treatments
- Work independently in completing assignments in accordance with physician orders, standards of care, and nursing policies and procedures
- Provide emergency nursing care to patients of all ages and their families in a fast-paced ER environment
- Serve as a clinical nurse within a facility that provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient emergency services to a large regional service area
- Support a diverse patient population including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
Required Qualifications
- Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license from any U.S. state — Arizona state licensure is not required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), and Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required within one (1) year of hire
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) completion required within 6 months of hire; Emergency Severity Index Level 5 required within 3 months of hire; Patient Sitter Competency Training required upon hire
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in an emergency room or acute care setting
- Experience working in a culturally diverse or underserved community healthcare environment
- Familiarity with trauma and pediatric emergency nursing protocols
