Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3 x 12-hour shifts | 36 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, implement, and evaluate individualized care for assigned ICU patients under the direction of a licensed physician
- Utilize the nursing process to collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and deliver patient-centered care
- Float to various units including step-down, IMCU, and ED for ICU holds/borders as assigned; may also be assigned to Women's and Family care areas with appropriate orientation
- Provide care for a diverse patient population that may include MICU, RICU, and Women's and Family patients such as preeclampsia, eclampsia, hypertensive conditions, hyperemesis, and postpartum hemorrhage
- Direct nursing support staff in the provision of patient care in accordance with standards of nursing practice and departmental policies and procedures
- Maintain patient-to-nurse ratios not exceeding 1:3 across any assigned unit
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ICU setting; new graduates will not be considered
- Active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse License (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- Experience with complex critical care patient populations including those requiring CRRT or ECMO
