Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | 8-hour or 10-hour shifts (6:00 AM–2:00 PM, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM) | Rotating weekend requirement (8-hour, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, Saturday or Sunday) | On-call requirement: 1–2 second calls per scheduling period, including one 24-hour weekend call (7:00 AM–7:00 AM Saturday or Sunday) | Call response time: 30 minutes
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre-operative nursing care within a hospital-based surgical center environment supporting a high-volume OR with 15 suites and 55–70 cases per day
- Deliver comprehensive pre-op assessment and preparation for patients undergoing a wide range of procedures, including same-day and overnight cases
- Perform and maintain proficient IV access skills throughout the pre-operative process
- Apply surgical care knowledge to ensure patient safety and readiness prior to operative procedures
- Float to the OR holding area as required
- Participate in rotating weekend coverage and on-call scheduling as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (copy of unexpired driver's license required at time of submission; any licensing hits must be disclosed)
- Current BLS certification
- Demonstrated IV skills — required
- Surgical care knowledge
- Experience with robotic-assisted surgical procedures
- Ability to meet a 30-minute on-call response time requirement
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Familiarity with Sunrise EMR; upcoming transition to EPIC is anticipated
- Prior experience in a high-volume, multi-suite surgical or perioperative setting
