Contract | Days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holidays rotate with staff
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed inpatient oncology unit, managing acute oncology symptoms including thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, hematology, and end-of-life care
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:5, with occasional 1:6 assignments, supported by nurse aides
- Utilize central telemetry monitoring; reading strips is not required
- Document and manage patient care using Meditech EMR
- Accept outpatient oncology patients transferred to the floor to complete treatment when the outpatient area closes
- Float rarely to medical acute unit as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of experience in oncology specialty
- At least 1 prior travel assignment completed (no first-time travelers)
- Current BLS certification
- Must reside within 75 miles of the facility (per driver's license address) — must be confirmed at time of submission
- Ability to wear Caribbean Blue scrubs per unit dress code
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIHSS certification preferred
- ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) chemotherapy certification preferred for candidates seeking chemo administration responsibilities (minimum 2 years oncology experience required)
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR
