Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to an adult and geriatric population on a cardiac stepdown unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Monitor and manage patients presenting with conditions including post-MI, heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, and peripheral vascular disease
- Perform and interpret telemetry monitoring, EKG, and Doppler assessments
- Assist with peritoneal dialysis as required within scope of practice
- Document patient care accurately using Epic and communicate effectively using SBAR methodology
- Float within the facility and within scope of practice as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Georgia RN license or valid Compact RN license required at time of submission
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in cardiac stepdown or a related specialty (first-time travelers accepted)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficiency with Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR
- Ability to work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
- Willingness to work required holidays per assignment period per holiday policy
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience with telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation in a stepdown or progressive care setting
- Familiarity with peritoneal dialysis procedures
- Experience working in a high-census environment with consistent patient loads
