Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) – Nights

Contract | Full-Time | 36 Hours per Week | Night Shift | Every Other Weekend | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, 65-bed pod-based Emergency Department serving approximately 230 visits per day across all patient populations
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, accurate clinical documentation, and patient education in a fast-paced ED environment
- Execute core ED nursing skills including IV insertion, phlebotomy, EKG interpretation, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, and splinting
- Deliver care across specialized areas including a dedicated pediatric pod and an Acute Mental Health area
- Maintain a 1:4 clinician-to-patient ratio while applying strong critical thinking to prioritize and manage patient needs
- Float to other areas within the department as needed and document all care using EPIC – ASAP EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts or compact state eligibility
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Current AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Proficiency with EPIC – ASAP or comparable EMR system
- Demonstrated competency in general ED nursing skills including assessment, IV, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, and splinting
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
- Experience working in a high-census, pod-based Emergency Department setting
