Contract | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a mixed ICU/PCU environment managing a variety of high-acuity diagnoses including COPD, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, DKA, AKI, encephalopathy, drug overdose, heart failure, and A-fib
- Manage and monitor ventilated patients, including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP assistance, high-flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
- Perform and assist with specialized procedures including CRRT/CVVHD, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, and IV insulin protocols
- Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips, administer continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation, and respond to emergencies including dysrhythmia management and multi-system organ failure
- Float in rotation to other ICU and Med/Surg units as census requires, with Med/Surg ratios of approximately 1:5–7 patients per RN
- Work every other weekend and all required holidays; adhere to unit float and scheduling policies
Required Qualifications
- Active or pending Michigan RN license (pending license accepted with documented ETA and proof of application at time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Proficiency with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with CRRT/CVVHD, cooling protocols, and management of vent-dependent patients
- Familiarity with CVA/acute stroke management and neurological assessment
- Experience caring for patients requiring massive transfusion protocols or procedural sedation
- Background in PCU or step-down care in addition to ICU experience
