Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Shifts: 6:30 AM–7:00 PM / 6:30 PM–7:00 AM | Every other weekend required | Every third holiday required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 35-bed Progressive Care Unit serving adult and geriatric populations with diagnoses including cardiac conditions, nephrology, stroke, diabetes, and continuous EEG monitoring
- Titrate drips including Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications per physician orders and unit protocolsli>Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5, collaborating with patient care techs assigned at a 1:10 ratio
- Float as needed to medical floors, ICU, or rehabilitation units
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members and contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative unit environment
- Complete unit-specific orientation including onboarding week and 1–2 days of floor orientation, including a required competency exam with a minimum passing score of 90%
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- NIHSS certification
- Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
- Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; compliance is required as a condition of the contract
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a Progressive Care, Stepdown, or IMC setting
- Experience titrating cardiac and neurological drips
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to thrive in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
