Contract | Days or Nights, 7a–7p / 7p–7a | Every other weekend and every other holiday required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, telemetry, and general medical diagnoses including cardiac cath, EP studies, pacemakers, sepsis, pneumonia, ETOH, and acute-on-chronic conditions
- Titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitroglycerin, Nipride, Lasix, and low-dose Dopamine
- Read and independently interpret telemetry strips and cardiac rhythms
- Manage patients on BiPAP, AIRVO, and tracheostomy as needed, performing basic troubleshooting of RT equipment
- Float as needed to PCU for full patient assignments, medical-surgical units, and ER holds/boarding
- Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5 on the general unit and 1:3 for PCU-level overflow patients
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- PCU-level nursing experience required
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips
- Experience titrating vasoactive and cardiac drips
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Epic EMR
- Background in telemetry or cardiac nursing
- Comfort working in a high-acuity stepdown or PCU environment with diverse patient populations
