Key Responsibilities
- Contribute professional and clinical knowledge and skills in the provision and management of patient care as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in a Progressive Care / Stepdown unit setting during night shift hours.
- Maintain safe patient assignments with a night shift ratio of 1:5 to 1:6, with charge nurses considering each nurse's level of cardiac experience.
- Utilize the EPIC electronic medical records system for documentation and care coordination.
- Float within the same discipline across local campuses as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of current Cardiac Stepdown / Progressive Care experience within the past 24 months.
- Active Illinois RN license at time of submission.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EPIC EMR (required).
- Current BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross (required).
- Current ACLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross (required).
- Valid Driver's License (required).
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Active Iowa RN license in addition to Illinois licensure.
- Professional reference or performance evaluation from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months.
- Completed skills checklist specific to Stepdown / Progressive Care discipline.
