Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on an adult acute care unit serving patients with conditions including elective back surgeries, trauma, prostate cancer, gallbladder conditions, and cellulitis
- Utilize Rapid Response and Code team protocols as needed
- Perform and manage peripheral line care, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions
- Float within skillset to other units as required
- May be required to serve in a charge nurse role or precept other staff
- Work one holiday per 13-week contract period; two holidays required during winter holiday scheduling blocks
Required Qualifications
- Active Virginia State RN license or active Compact RN license required at time of submission (pending license accepted only if candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state)
- Current BLS certification
- Proficiency in Medical/Surgical nursing care
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records system
- Ability to work weekend shifts (every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers will be considered
- Experience functioning as a charge nurse or preceptor in a Med/Surg setting
- Familiarity with 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio environments in acute care settings
