Contract (13 Weeks) | Day/Night Rotating Shifts (3x12 Hours) | 7:00–19:30 / 19:00–7:30 | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to pediatric and neonatal patients in a Pediatric/Surgical unit setting
- Monitor and manage patients with conditions including prematurity, apnea of prematurity (AOP), retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), bronchopulmonary/chronic lung disease, cardiac defects, feeding issues, and neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS)
- Perform and maintain tracheostomy care as required by patient needs
- Rotate shifts between days and nights as scheduled, including holidays as they fall
- Float within specialty as needed, including to a sister campus location
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or a valid Compact License
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience with NICU experience required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association only
- NRP certification (NRP or AAP accepted)
- CPI certification (Calm Every Storm online version accepted)
- Ability to float within specialty with no restrictions; travelers are first to float
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting
- Background in managing iatrogenic NAS and complex cardiac defect patients
- ACLS and/or PALS certification (AHA only)
