Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Shifts: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM | 6-week scheduling blocks | Weekend and holiday rotation required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) serving adult medical, surgical, cardiac, and stroke patients
- Titrate drips including Heparin, octreotide, and insulin, as well as administer maintenance IV medications
- Read and interpret telemetry monitoring independently
- Manage frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges in a high-flow unit environment
- Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs, and unit support staff to deliver team-based care
- Float to other units including Med/Surg and, based on abilities, ICU/ED as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current NIHSS certification
- Ability to pass a unit-specific open-book skills exam with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
- Compliance with facility fingernail policy – artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a PCU, stepdown, or intermediate care setting
- Experience with cardiac and stroke patient populations
- Familiarity with specialty equipment such as LUCAS machines, Hoyer lifts, and code carts
