Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and connect with appropriate resources.
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to effectively manage clinical situations.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of employment or a valid compact nursing license.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical/Surgical nursing setting.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage contingencies and long-range care planning in a clinical nursing environment.
