Contract | 13-Week Assignment | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Evening/Night Rotation (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM / 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Every Other Holiday Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct emergency nursing care to adult and geriatric patients presenting with a wide range of emergency diagnoses, including trauma, stroke, and cardiac conditions
- Perform IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV vasopressor management
- Manage and monitor patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, and mechanical ventilation
- Conduct cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Perform triage and implement appropriate isolation precautions in a fast-paced emergency department environment
- Float within skillset as needed across the unit
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State Single State RN License (must be in hand at time of submission; NY is not a Compact state)
- Minimum 1 year of emergency room nursing experience
- Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (valid NIHSS must be included at submission)
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records (hard requirement)
- Demonstrated clinical experience with CVA/stroke, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI
- Experience with emergency care including adult and pediatric presentations, gunshot wounds, and orthopedic trauma
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with specialized emergency equipment such as Bair Hugger and rapid infuser
- Familiarity with safe patient handling equipment and protocols
- Experience in a high-volume, acute care or teaching hospital environment
