Key Responsibilities
- Assess the health status of individuals and groups, establish nursing diagnoses, and identify goals to meet patient care needs
- Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for obstetrical patients across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages
- Provide care within a level one low-risk birth unit utilizing single room maternity care, incorporating family-centered care philosophy
- Support and recover patients undergoing Cesarean births within the Birthing Center
- Deliver care to newborns including normal newborn care and newborn stabilization, as well as pediatric patients during the perinatal period
- Document patient responses to interventions accurately using electronic charting systems
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of current LDRP experience
- Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Vermont
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency with venipuncture and electronic charting
- Resume with any employment gaps over 30 days explained
- Skills checklist specific to the discipline completed within the last year, and two supervisory references from the last two years of employment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a high-volume setting with 400 or more deliveries per year
- Experience with C-sections and epidurals
- Active Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and S.T.A.B.L.E. certifications
- Prior travel nursing experience
