Key Responsibilities
- Independently provides holistic, individualized care using the nursing process for patients routinely seen on the OB unit
- Performs the functions of a RN in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating all assigned patient care under the supervision of the charge nurse
- Implements and evaluates age-appropriate care for all patients in the department, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, nursery, and post-op gynecology patients
- Manages supplies and equipment while promoting teamwork with physicians and personnel across departments
- Demonstrates clinical competency, nursing judgment, and teaching skills with a commitment to improving the quality of patient care
- Adheres to all Standards of Nursing Practice and hospital policies regarding confidentiality, advance directives, and ADA compliance
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of one year of acute care experience as an RN
- Current BLS, ACLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Certificate (NRP), and STABLE certification
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Must be vaccinated for COVID-19 per state mandate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a Labor and Delivery or OB/GYN unit setting
- Demonstrated ability to successfully complete general nursing and unit-specific orientation
