Key Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility and accountability for a group of patients during a designated shift, prescribing nursing care consistent with the medical plan of care and the nursing process.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary health care team members to coordinate delivery of patient care across all age groups in an emergency and trauma setting.
- Provide triage, treatment, and support for trauma and emergency patients of all ages in an acute care environment.
- Incorporate patient and family teaching as well as discharge planning needs into the overall plan of care.
- Delegate appropriate aspects of patient care to other nursing staff based on clinical competence and legal scope of practice.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required at time of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required at time of hire.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required within 1 year of hire.
- EPIC experience within the last 12 months and recent Cerner experience required; each work history entry must list the charting system used.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Acute care facility experience preferred.
- Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) and Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certifications preferred.
