Contract | Full-Time | Days | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours per Week | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility and accountability for a designated group of NICU patients throughout each assigned shift
- Prescribe and implement nursing care based on the nursing process, consistent with the medical plan of care and input from patients and families
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary health care team members to coordinate and deliver patient care
- Incorporate patient and family teaching as well as discharge planning into the overall plan of care
- Delegate appropriate aspects of patient care to other nursing staff based on clinical competence and legal scope of practice
- Document all patient care activities accurately using EPIC electronic health record system
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 6 months of hire
- Active EPIC experience within the last 12 months required; recent Cerner experience also required
- Each work history entry must identify the charting system used
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Prior acute care facility experience in a NICU or perinatal setting
- Experience supporting or working within an EHR conversion project
